WeatherTech Safety Harnesses for Pets
Your car's seat belt is one of the most important safety features, and the WeatherTech system allows you to fasten your pet just as you would. The harness is easy to put on and, unlike a traditional leash and/or collar, withstands any pressure or tension that occurs when the vehicle is in motion, transferring the entire burden from your pet's neck to their ribcage. The pet harness is equipped with a short cable with two holes. Simply slide your vehicle's seat belt through one of these holes and connect the buckles. Use the hole closer to your pet if you want to limit the amount of movement your pet allows. The WeatherTech Pet Harness can also be used in the cargo area of your vehicle using a carabiner with a lift lock.
In the event of an accident, a large unharnessed pet can exert a force of up to 1,100 kilograms on itself and other car passengers. To get the right size, you'll need your dog's weight and chest circumference (measure when your dog is standing, behind the front legs at the widest or deepest part of the dog's chest). Note: Do not measure under the armpits. If your dog weighs close to or exceeds any size, order the next larger size.
NOTE: Dimensions are approximate. For your dog's comfort, if your dog's chest measurement and/or weight are close to the size group maximum, size up. The pet harness is not designed to fit against the skin, so it's best to go the next size up and fit it with adjustable straps.
